This is the sleeper hit of Tuscan whites. Panizzi's Vernaccia is herbal, citrusy, and mineral-driven, like a mountain breeze through an olive grove. You'll get lemon zest, white peach, almond skin, and that distinct flinty kick Vernaccia is known for. It's crisp and clean but layered, with a salinity that calls to the nearby Tyrrhenian Sea. Panizzi is the benchmark producer for Vernaccia di San Gimignano, one of Italy's oldest and most historic white wines. They've been farming organically in the medieval hilltop town of San Gimignano since the early 1980s, and they're credited with elevating the reputation of Vernaccia through a commitment to quality and terroir expression. Veracchia is their fresh, early-drinking cuvée.
