The BB, meaning “Bobal”, is a striking and territorial Spanish natural red wine obtained from the almost lost and forgotten local Catalunya variety Bobal, in this case coming from old vines on clay-limestone soils. After spontaneous fermentation and extended skin contact it rests in steel for 8-12 months before being bottled with no fining, filtration or added SO2. It’s ragingly vibrant and deeply multi-faceted: herbaceous notes on baked black plums, cardamom, liquorice and pomegranate juice.

The story of Partida Creus, a name which is now long since synonymous with uniquely and brightly vibrant Spanish natural wines, begins in 2001 and has actually Italian roots. That’s when Antonella Gerosa and Massimo Marchiori, both architects in Turin, decide to do a 360’ turn and change around their lives. Intent on producing pure, terroir-driven natural wines and having fallen in love with the location, they move to the remote village of Bonastre, in the Penedes region of Spain, near Tarragona.
